On the morning of April 29, a rail-sea intermodal train carrying cassava chips, starch and timber from Xiamen Port arrived at Nanchang International Land Port. On the same day, another train full of auto parts, tapes and salt manufactured in Jiangxi set off towards Xiamen Port. Since its launch in 2023, the "Nanchang-Xiamen Port" Silk Road Sea-Rail Intermodal Train has made over 1600 trips, forming a routine and efficient operational pattern, establishing a vital logistics corridor spanning Jiangxi and Fujian.

The "Nanchang-Xiamen Port" Silk Road Sea-Rail Intermodal Train operates on a "fixed point, fixed line, fixed schedule and fixed pricing" model, optimizing both time and cost. It shortens the delivery time by about 30% compared to traditional transportation methods and reduces logistics costs for enterprises by over 20%. The seamless integration of "inland port + seaport" ensures efficient customs clearance and a full-service bill of lading process, enabling "one declaration, one container all the way," significantly enhancing the convenience of international trade. As of now, the bidirectional route has transported 127,800 TEUs of goods, with the product range expanding from just over 30 types to more than 200, including high-value-added products.

To ensure smooth operations, the Nanchang Railway Logistics Center has coordinated efficiently at every step, from plan reception and cargo inspection to loading and unloading organization. The team has collaborated with companies to create tailored transportation plans based on the nature, value and delivery deadlines of the goods. In loading organization, each train consists of 40 vehicles to avoid splitting during the journey, and the scheduling process has reduced handling time by 60%. To shorten the turnaround time for export goods, they strictly follow international maritime standards in packing and inspection. In the first quarter of this year, Nanchang International Land Port handled 496 foreign trade trains, with 31,900 TEUs shipped, reflecting a YoY increase of 26.53% in departures and 18.40% in arrivals.
